Forty Voices, Forty Years: Looking for Volunteers
A Project of Welsh Women’s Aid & The George Ewart Evans Centre for Storytelling
Welsh Women’s Aid celebrates 40 Years Supporting Women
Women’s memories, voices and lives are often written out of our national heritage. We aim to capture the history of Welsh Women’s Aid in its 40th year, and commemorate its work to end violence against women, by creating a collection of oral histories and digital stories from women in Wales.
The project will enhance our understanding of the violence against women movement in Wales, and improve community knowledge about violence against women and our work to prevent it.
We want to encourage reflection on our future priorities as a movement, as we work towards our shared goal of eradicating violence against women.
We are seeking the support of female volunteers with suitable skills, and an understanding of the issue of violence against women in Wales, to support this project. We are looking for experienced, passionate women to join us in the following volunteer roles:
Story and Material Collectors
To work in local areas across Wales to support the Forty Voices, Forty Years Project Associate.
To support a tour of digital stories gathered in the Forty Voices, Forty Years project in locations across Wales, culminating at St Fagan’s National Museum of History.
