Saturday May 26th from 12pm – 3pm at
the National Waterfront Museum Swansea
The festival is the culmination of the LOCWS Creative Participation Programme, a collaborative project between Locws International, Adult Learning Wales and eight community focused organisations in Swansea:
SNAP Cymru – EYST Wales – Crisis – Gorseinon Social Centre – Toronto Place Community Centre – Bloom Swansea – Communities For Work – The Wallich
Back for the third year running SwanComm Film Festival will premier films made during our recent community film-making workshops. You will be able to meet with the film-makers and hear about their experience of making these eight unique films about Swansea.
The project saw children, young people and adults throughout Swansea gain creative film-making skills and enabled community members to come together to learn the theory and technical skills of making films as diverse as documentary, comic-horror, and animated movies.
Under the engaging instruction of local filmmakers Jamie Panton and David Marchant, the groups gained skills in interview techniques, camera work, directing, animation, filming on location, lighting and audio. Eight film-making courses were held and were attended by participants as young as 7 years and as wise as 58 years, participants over the age of 16 were also given the opportunity to gain accreditations courtesy of Adult Learning Wales.
SwanComm Film Festival aims to bring the City together to hear the voices of the community as they talk about their experiences of living in Swansea.
