Cardigan’s Giant Lantern Parade!
Friday 9 December,
7pm – 8pm
Join a magnificent lantern parade on Friday 9 December through the streets of Cardigan from 7pm! Be part of an evening spectacular that ends in a breath taking fireworks display at 8pm.
We hope everyone had the chance to make a lantern at one of Small World Theatre’s Lantern Making Workshop in October and November. If not, don’t worry, come along and join the crowd (there will be spare lanterns to carry). Small World Theatre will lead the parade from Pendre Art to Prince Charles Quay where there will be a breath taking fireworks display at 8pm. Also, Cardigan’s many shops will be open for late night shopping with tempting Christmas wares…
The theme of this parade centres around the first Eisteddfod. It will be an inspirational procession of festive decorations. Imagine harps and stars with bells and bards… amongst the lanterns will be some giant creations. If you’ve made a lantern, you will be able to take yours home after the parade and in time for Christmas.
We’re meeting at Small World Theatre at 6.15pm to collect our lanterns and light our candles. The parade leaves Small World Theatre at 7pm.
This event is part of Festive Fortnight, a Creative Cardigan project. The project has been funded by the Welsh Government through Visit Wales’ Tourism Product Innovation Fund which aims to encourage partnership working and innovative ideas which will have a greater impact and attract more visitors.
