INTRODUCING OUR CREATIVE ENGAGEMENT MANAGER AND THE OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE YOUNG PEOPLE IN YOUR FAMILY OR COMMUNITY
Sherman Theatre’s Creative Engagement Manager Timothy Howe has been busy over the summer working on developing our projects for young people to ensure that there are plenty of ways for young people to engage with Sherman Theatre even while the building is closed.
Tim gives us an update here:
“This autumn we are offering young people the opportunity to create, explore and develop a variety of theatre skills. We will be providing a combination of online sessions, as well as exciting workshop tutorials with a range of professionals from across the theatrical world which will be delivered through an online platform – to be accessed at your convenience”.
Here’s a summary of what the Creative Engagement team has on offer from autumn onwards:
Introduction to Playwriting
Are you aged 15 – 18, or do you know someone who is? Are you interested in writing your first play?
This FREE course, supported by the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, offers monthly Zoom sessions with professional writers, as well as a series of online tutorials with a wide range of writers from across Wales and the UK whose work has been seen as part of Sherman Theatre’s artistic programme.
The course aims to develop and showcase the unheard voices of young people with work shared on our social media platforms and on our stages. No previous experience is needed, just enthusiasm and imagination.
We would love to hear from Sherman 5 members. If you or someone you know would be interested in getting involved this autumn, please contact Non Haf at: [email protected].
