New Inclusive Youth Theatre Group at Sherman Cymru
Sherman Cymru will be launching a new inclusive youth theatre group for young people aged 15-18 years old.
INC. Youth Theatre at Sherman Cymru is a new and exciting venture for a professional venue which already runs five reputable Youth Theatre groups. After much consultation with disability arts companies in the city and a successful inclusive drama project in Summer 2012, Sherman Cymru have decided to launch its very first inclusive and integrated Youth Theatre thanks to the generous support of Western Power Distribution and BIG Lottery Fund.
Creative Learning Associate, Alice Nicholas, is excited about starting this new project:
“INC. Youth Theatre will provide a safe and creative environment where enthusiastic and highly committed young people with and without learning disabilities can learn about performance in a professional theatre. Members will be given the opportunity to take part in workshops and public performances, building their confidence and gaining valuable performance and social skills with other like minded young people.”
Young people aged between 15 and 18 years of age with an enthusiasm and passion for theatre are encouraged to apply for the INC. Youth Theatre. Applications are being accepted now. Interested applicants will be invited to attend a taster session in the next few weeks. The INC Youth Theatre will meet every Monday from 22 April as part of the Sherman Youth Theatre timetable. The fee per term will be £30. Each term is normally 10 weeks which varies due to bank holidays.
