Writing an Artist’s Statement

Saturday 15th July, Ruthin Craft Centre

10.00am – 12.30pm

1:30pm – 4pm

Booking is essential.

Getting your statement right is invaluable for all your communication and publicity – for exhibitions, on your website, social media and being able to have a confident conversation when someone asks you “what type of art do you do?”.

Your artist’s statement is a basic introduction to your art and how ideas are presented in the work; it is not instructions on what to experience or what to think. This practical session, delivered by Sara Roberts, will provide you with the tools to write a good statement, through the use of models, exercises and peer review in a friendly and supportive environment.

Sara is happy to discuss individual pieces of writing (statements) with the authors on an individual basis after the sessions.

Please note that there are 2 identical sessions and you only need to book either the morning 10-12.30pm or 1.30-4pm
