National disability care provider Leonard Cheshire and inclusive dance company Step Change Studios are teaming up to hold the nation’s first ever inclusive dance competition ‘Strictly Wales’.
Over the past 5 months, almost 100 disabled people registered to participate in 5 regional heats across Wales. Ten people have made it through to the grand final which will take place on World Health Day – 7th April, where they will dance with professional partners in range of styles, including Paso Doble, Cha Cha, Waltz and Charleston. The Secretary of State for Wales Alun Cairns will be on the judging panel.
The Grand Final will commence with a drinks reception starting at 1.30pm, followed by the Strictly Final Competition. This includes professional dance performances and will conclude with a celebration disco that will commence at 6.30pm until 10.30pm.
