Annual Conference 2018
Taking place in Newport on the 13th and 14th November, join us at ‘All our futures’ for a two-day feast of inspiring speakers, interactive workshops, and a brilliant conference chair – Engage to Change’s very own Ambassador, Jordan Quaite. Jordan will be chairing proceedings on Day 2 of the event, while on Day 1 you can join Engage to Change at our interactive workshop to explore ways in which we can work to raise aspirations and expectations for people with a learning disability.
‘All our futures’ will look at how we can invest in a better future for people with a learning disability by changing the way we do things.
The world around us is changing and the money we have to help us adjust is decreasing. We must promote well-being and ensure rights are protected now and in the future. To do this we need to adapt and meet changing expectations by exploring all the resources we have available, including new technology.
The conference theme will draw on the relevant key laws and policies in Wales:
- The Well-being of Future Generations Act
- Social Services and Well-being Act
- Prosperity for All
- Improving Lives
- Huw Irranca-Davies AM, Minister for Children, Older People and Social Care
- Sally Holland, Children’s Commissioner for Wales
‘All our futures’ will also see the return of Hijinx Theatre to the main stage, with their innovative forum theatre that has proved immensely popular at our past conferences.
