Salary: £37,748 – £41,617, commensurate with experience
Closing Date: 25 March 2019
Interview date: 8 April 2019
Artis Community, based in Pontypridd, provides high quality community art experiences that are driven by social outcomes. We believe in the transformational power of creativity to make a real difference to people’s quality of life and have provided high quality, professional art experiences to communities across the county borough of Rhondda Cynon Taff since 1987, creating opportunities for those people most challenged by their circumstances.
We are currently seeking to appoint a new Chief Executive Officer to lead the organisation into the future. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership and operational support to the Board of Trustees and a small team of staff and freelancers and will have overall responsibility for delivering Artis’ services.
The CEO will cultivate and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders, policy makers and opinion formers and will represent Artis, its work and initiatives to the wider community, including Local Authorities, Arts Council of Wales, education institutions, voluntary sector organisations, and various community groups.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate an outstanding record of achievement in leading a creative sector company/charity. Experience of playing a lead role in public-sector funding applications and negotiations will also be a key factor in deciding on the successful candidate.
He/she will have a proven track record in networking, building strategic partnerships and maintaining external relationships, as well as experience of managing a small organisation or team of staff at senior managerial or board level. He/she will also have experience of analysing and reporting to the Board and stakeholders on financial and operational performance.
We are working in partnership with Pontypridd YMCA to transform their existing building into a cutting-edge community arts facility. The successful candidate will therefore work with partners and stakeholders to support delivery of the capital project. Experience of running a multi-purpose community arts building and ensuring the delivery of the associated Business Plan targets will also be key factors in our decision making.
Considerable flexibility is required as attendance at evening and weekend performances and meetings will be necessary.
To apply please send your CV with a covering letter (no longer than 2 pages) explaining how you meet the requirements of this role to our Chair, Jonathan Huish, by e-mailing email@example.com
We operate an Equal Opportunities Recruitment Policy and welcome applications from all sections of the community in Welsh or English.
