Congratulations to Denni Turp, who has won this year’s DAC poetry competition with her poem ‘Triawd y Gorffennol: above Braich Quarry’.
We invited our members to submit work that is in response to the theme of
On The Edge: we wanted to reflect the feelings of our DAC members about this broad theme which was open to their own interpretation.
The prize is a voucher donated by Literature Wales redeemable against a 2019 writing course at Ty Newydd
The Judge Dominic Williams says: ‘I’ve been impressed by the quality of this years entries and there were many excellent pieces of work.’
Dominic would also like to highly commend the following poets for their entries:
Alison Weetman for ‘Point’
Greta Templeman for ‘The Bird’
Maj Ikle for ‘Edge’
Emily Hillman for ‘Scapegoat’
Rachael Smith for ‘On the Edge (dream state)’
A selection of poems will be published in an e-publication later in the year, alongside images from the DAC Open exhibition which was along the same theme of ‘On the Edge’.
Many thanks to all the poets who entered this year and supported DAC.
