On Saturday February 29th we are having a ‘Beth Am Gael Tro/Have A Go’ workshop on upcycling. Materials will be provided, but if you have a project you’ve been waiting to make a start on bring it along. Refreshments also provided. The workshop is at The Institute, Llanfair Caereinion, 11-3.
The cost is £10 for members, £15 non-members, annual membership fee is £10. Places are limited so booking required.
We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded a number of grants. We have had a grant from the People’s Postcode Trust for art materials and volunteer travel expenses. This will help us greatly as we continue our regular art group sessions.
We have been awarded a grant from the National Lottery 25th anniversary fund #CelebrateNationalLottery25 to go on a group day trip to Tate Liverpool, and purchase materials so that we can make our own work inspired by what we see. We plan to go on the trip on April 28th.
And we have been awarded a grant from Age Cymru Gwanwyn Festival 2020 to run some zines workshops with local artist Nicky Arscott. Gwanwyn is a month-long national festival held across Wales in May each year celebrating creativity in older age. We will be looking at our life stories and how to tell our stories in a zine. None of us are quite sure what a zine is so we look forward to finding out! The workshops will take place in April/May/June.
We have also had a grant from Barchester’s Charitable Foundation for art materials. We thank all our funders for their support.
March is card making month! We are having a fundraiser at the Corn Exchange, Welshpool on Saturday April 25th so we will be busy making cards and other hand-made products to sell to raise funds.
And we need you! We are looking for volunteers who can help in a variety of roles, including session facilitators. We meet in Newtown, Caersws, Welshpool, Llanfair Caereinion and Machynlleth. The opportunity is ideal for anyone wanting experience in facilitating art sessions. All you need is enthusiasm and a friendly, helpful, inclusive manner. We are also looking for anyone with management expertise who would like to help with the development of Celf-Able. If you would like to find out about these and other roles please get in touch, Phone 01938 810058 or Email: [email protected].
