2019 Welsh Government Apprenticeship Scheme
This new 2019 Welsh Government Apprenticeship campaign aims to encourage more people to apply from all different backgrounds ensuring that Welsh Government builds on being representative of the communities we serve. There are numerous policies and practices in place which support colleagues and line managers to ensure Diversity and Inclusion is key in what we do and how we support staff. For this Apprenticeship Scheme we’ll be adopting anonymised sift as well as ensuring our interview panels are made up with a diverse range of colleagues.
There are a number of staff diversity networks which have a healthy membership and allies schemes, these are forums where you can get advice and guidance, as well as enjoying network events and social activities. These are:

- Minority Ethnic Staff Network
- PRISM (LGBT+)
- Women Together
In recent years we have been awarded Level 3 Leader Status for being a Disability Confident employer, we are currently 8th in the UK for Stonewall Workplace Index which supports Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual and Transgender (LGBT) employee’s, we have signed up to the Race at Work Charter and are included on the list of organisations that have been recognised as an inclusive employer for race. We have also been awarded Gold status by a:gender the inclusive support network for staff in Government Departments and Agencies, covering all aspects of gender reassignment, gender identity, gender expression and Intersex.
