Disability Arts Cymru invites you to submit work for the DAC ANNUAL EXHIBITION 2018

The theme of this year’s open exhibition is ‘On The Edge’

Through our DAC Annual Exhibition we showcase and tour the work of Wales-based disabled and deaf artists or those living with long term physical and/or mental health conditions.

It is an open exhibition including work from up-and-coming artists and those who have been working as professional artists for many years. Our aim is to raise profiles; increasing the likelihood of sales, enabling the progression of careers in the creative sector; building relationships between peers and exhibiting venues.

We show a variety of forms and media; DAC supports artists working across all art forms, therefore giving as many artists as possible the opportunity to include their work

The exhibition will take place at the following venues – dates and details to be confirmed

  • Celf O Gwmpas, Llandrindod Wells
  • Cyfarthfa Castle Museum & Gallery, Merthyr Tydfil
  • Royal Cambrian Academy, Conwy
  • Theatr Clwyd, Mold

Entry criteria:

  • One entry per person
  • We will be selecting the works for the 2018 exhibition based on images submitted with the entry form. Please submit up to 5 images with your application. Images can be submitted by post (A4 size) or via email as an attachment with a high resolution (300dpi) to [email protected]
  • Open to d/Deaf and disabled artists and those with long term physical and/or mental health conditions, residing in Wales, aged 16 and over.
  • Entry fee – £7.50 per entry
  • Visual art mediums accepted: drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, ceramics, collage. Any queries please contact us.
  • We welcome entries under the themes of ‘On The Edge’ – It is intended as a broad theme open to wider interpretation
  • Exhibition ready – All 2D work must be framed – with ‘d rings’ and picture wire/string attached for hanging.
  • Size Limit: 1m x 1m
  • Work for sale: A commission will be taken for any work sold – commission rates will vary depending on the exhibition venue.
  • Entries must be submitted by 14th June 2018

 

Due to the size of the venues there is a limit to the number of pieces that can be exhibited. Work must adhere to the Exhibiting Policy and DAC will select the work to be exhibited if there is over-submission. DAC reserve the right to accept or reject any work for inclusion in the show. In the event your work is not exhibited your entry fee will be returned. Chosen work must be delivered to the DAC head office or stated venue by 28th June 2018

 

Work must be available for the duration of the exhibition which will run between August and December 2018.

Disclaimer: You will be liable for your artwork until it is received by DAC, at which point insurance cover will be provided until the end of the project. DAC reserve the right to refuse any artwork they believe to be unsuitable.
