Access Forum

Apologies for the short notice……….

The next access forum will be at 6pm on the 14th of August 2018 at The Sony Room, Wales Millennium Centre. The topic for this session will be ‘Creating integrated performances’, guest speakers to include Elise Davison, Taking Flight Theatre Company; Clare Williams of Hijinx Theatre Company and Jonny Cotsen. They will be sharing insight into their processes of creating work where access is integrated from the very start and throughout creation. After the presentations, we will have an opportunity for Q&A and discussion.

At the end of the evening we will also look at the content that came out of the previous session on the future of the forum.

Please RSVP and let us know of any access requirements to accessforum@nationaltheatrewales.org

National Theatre Wales 2Next meeting:

Blackwood Miners’ Institute next Wednesday, 18th October, 6-8pm

The event will focus on Dementia Friendly Theatre, with talks from Dementia Friends, Marina Newth from Blackwood Miners’ Institute, and myself. I’ll be touching on how to make affordable resources to help make your performances dementia friendly, and also pointing you in the direction of useful organisations.

There will be, as ever, time at the end to ask anything Access related, which we can discuss as a whole room. We’ll have a Palantypist there providing live captioning.

Please do let Rhian at NTW know if you can make it, and share the event widely: http://community.nationaltheatrewales.org/events/access-forum-dementia-friendly-theatre

Access Forum: Audience

Wednesday 7th December, 6-8pm
The Plant Room, Wales Millennium Centre
Come to Stage Door to check in

We’ll be focusing on the audience, so think Marketing and Communications, Audience Development and how we reach people who maybe aren’t accessing the arts.

This topic has come up several times, and lots of us have issues in getting the word out about our provision.

We’re planning on having a panel to discuss ideas and approaches, and look at some best practice. We’ll also open up the discussion more widely, and chat about what other issues are on our minds.
