We’re looking for a positive, motivated and experienced project coordinator who will support the cARTrefu team, residents and care home staff to create artistic work that pushes the expectations of what is possible.
cARTrefu which means ‘to reside’ in Welsh, is an Age Cymru programme to improve:
The quality and accessibility of arts experiences for older people in residential care.
The confidence and skills of care staff to increase creative activity in care homes.
Opportunities for professional development of artists and to provide a platform to showcase residents and artists work to the wider public.
Based on a model created by the Courtyard Theatre in Hereford, cARTrefu has been running since January 2015 and has become the largest project of its kind in Europe. It’s funded by the Baring Foundation and Arts Council Wales. cARTrefu is run in close collaboration with our Gwanwyn Festival, a national festival celebrating creativity in older age.
You’ll be required to support the delivery of the project across Wales. The post will involve co-ordinating the work of all project mentors and artists, supporting the recruitment of and maintaining strong working relationships with care homes and wider arts community and coordinating relationships with project funders.
You’ll have experience of working in an arts or care environment with a confident and positive approach to handling interaction with others, excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high level of organisational and co-ordination skills.
