Conwy based visual artist Rachael Roberts explores her own childhood memories of growing up in North Wales through a variety of mediums including analogue photography and ceramics.

“What makes me who I am?” is a thought which is apparent within in her current ceramic & mixed media pieces. Her own memories have been heavily influenced by her welsh heritage & close family ties.

Socially engaged practice:
Rachael is passionate about making art accessible for all including young people and adults with a variety of needs.
As a visual artist and qualified youth support worker she uses her experience to deliver and facilitate mixed media workshops in a number of settings.
Graduating in Psychology from the University of Bangor in 2010, Rachael has since worked within public, private and third sector organisations. She has delivered artistic and creative sessions to young people and adults with a range of abilities.
Extensive Continued Professional Development (see below) including a particular interest in additional needs, allows Rachael to facilitate art workshops with a heightened awareness of the needs of the individual client.
She has recently won a commission to run a series of workshops for ‘Dementia arts’, delivering nostalgic workshops at Memory cafes across Wales.
