DAC Art Prize

Competition Still Open

Outdoors:Indoors

Deadline: Thursday April 30th 2020

When we decided on the theme for the art prize we had no idea just how appropriate it was going to be for 2020! Everyone will now know what it is like for disabled people who cannot leave their homes when they choose.

With so many events being cancelled we are delighted that the art prize can still go ahead as the first part is all done digitally. While we are all stuck indoors please make use of the time by being creative. We welcome any art form: Painters – all mediums, Sculptors, Video Artists, Photographers, 3 D Artists, installation artists, Printmakers, Ceramicists, Digital Artists.

We look forward to receiving your entries.

Here are the details:

‘Outdoors:Indoors’’
The Theme
Wales is a country opulent in dramatic backgrounds, glorious seascapes and beautiful countryside that demonstrates an extensive diversity covering forests, castles, rivers, caves and shores.
Visit Wales’ theme for 2020, ‘Outdoors’ will celebrate the Country’s outstanding natural landscapes which are alive with world-leading adventure and a distinctive, contemporary culture. The 870mile Coastal Path; 3 National Parks; 600 Castles; Outstanding Areas of Natural Beauty and Dark Sky Reserves – are all set to be enjoyed in 2020
Fantastic: but what through no fault of your own, you can’t access all this beauty? How can you be truly part of this amazing offer? Are there alternative ways of engaging and experiencing such wonderful vistas and experiences? Indeed, how can you be a part of the ‘Outdoors’ when you are mostly ‘Indoors’?
