Theatr Genedlaethol – Nyrsys

A hithau’n flwyddyn pan fo’r Gwasanaeth Iechyd Gwladol yn 70 oed, cawn gipolwg ar brysurdeb dyddiol ward canser mewn ysbyty yng Nghymru heddiw, gyda sgript a chaneuon wedi’u llunio o gyfweliadau â nyrsys go iawn. Mae’r ddrama newydd hon yn rhoi llwyfan i brofiadau nyrsys — yr heriau maen nhw’n eu hwynebu yn eu gwaith o ddydd i ddydd, a’r direidi, y chwaergarwch, a’r teimlad o alwedigaeth sy’n eu cynnal. Dyma ddarlun o’r galon o fywyd a gwaith yr arwyr hyn sy’n gofalu amdanom ni ac am ein hanwyliaid mewn cyfundrefn iechyd sydd dan bwysau parhaus.

Mynediad i ddysgwyr ac i’r di-Gymraeg drwy gyfrwng ap Sibrwd. Manylion llawn yma.

Nyrsys – Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru

As this year sees the NHS turn 70, we take a look behind the scenes of a busy cancer ward in a hospital in Wales today, with a script and songs created from interviews with real nurses. This new play shines a light on nurses’ experiences — the challenges they face in their day-today work and the mischief, sisterhood and sense of vocation that sustains them. A heartfelt depiction of the life and work of these real-life heroes who care for us and our loved ones within a healthcare system that’s under perpetual strain.

This is a Welsh-language production. The Sibrwd app provides a live audio synopsis for non-Welsh speakers and Welsh beginners. Full information available here.

Age guidance: 11+

As this production is an integral part of the company’s exploration of the theme Care and Community, and comes at the end of a special year in the history of the National Health Service, a special offer is available of concession price or 10% off ticket price for all NHS staff. NHS staff are kindly asked to show their ID card and quote ‘NyrsysGIG’ when buying tickets.
On Tuesday 17 April, we presented the first public presentation of Nyrsys as a work in progress at Wales Millennium Centre, as part of their season ‘Performances for the Curious’.

‘2023’ by Illumine Theatre

Cardiff, 2023 – a law passed in Westminster in 2005 has just come into force. Children told they were born from donated eggs or sperm, upon turning 18, are now entitled to know the identity of their donor parent.

Mary seeks out sperm donor Chris, knocking his world asunder. In this new era, where racial tensions run high, she wants answers. Who are her half-siblings? Could she have inherited her deafness? And is Chris prepared to risk his marriage and own family plans to help her feel she belongs?

2023 has been developed with support from academics and researchers in the fields of gamete donation and D/deafness.

Ransack Dance Company present Murmur

A night of contemporary dance and live music.
Featuring live band ‘Best Supporting Actors,’ with FREE live gig following the performance.

Memo Arts Centre, Barry,   Friday14th September 7.30pm

‘Murmur’ sees Ransack Dance Company tell two unique short stories in a surge of risk taking athletic contemporary dance, crashing live music and breath taking film images.

Inspired by the words of Marlon Brando; ‘We act every day to save our lives’, the work explores the theme of authenticity, and sees the performers travel through a series of scenarios. They share intimate meetings, dance through live gigs, move through the murmurations of flocking birds, and push against wild storms, searching for calmness amidst the chaos of life.

‘Ransack have a momentum that will keep you on the edge of your seat!’ Audience

‘Sensitive, personal and emotionally engaging’ Wales Online

The performance will also feature students from University of South Wales, and Motion Control Dance.
Some of the show has speech in so we have a BSL interpreter at the show
