28 February 2020
What is it?
Making Space: Curating Disabled Artists is a one-day event at Ty Pawb, Wrexham
From 11am-4pm on Friday 28 February 2020.
Organised by Visual Arts Group Wales VAGW and hosted by Ty Pawb, this event is an informal day of talks
and conversation led by artists and curators. It is funded by Unlimited and Arts Council of Wales and forms part of the Unlimited Connects: Wales series of events.
Guest contributors include: Mike Layward (Artistic Director, Disability Arts Shropshire DASH); Anna Berry (DASH curator in residence, MAC Birmingham); Gaia Redgrave (artist).
Who is it for?
Making Space is intended for freelance artists/curator/producers and senior programming staff at visual arts venues in Wales. The price for salaried attendees is £50, and for freelancers we will be inviting optional pay-what-you-feel contributions. Sounds great – sign me up!
Places are limited so we may need to select attendees. If you wish to attend please email [email protected] by Friday 7 February with a short and informal statement including
• Your name
• A brief bio (including role title/ organisation if relevant), and
• What you can bring to the discussion, and what you hope to gain
Please also tell us if you have any access measures you’d like us to provide at Ty Pawb on the day.
Attendees will be selected who collectively can achieve the broadest discussion. If you’re selected we’ll confirm all details and provide full information about the venue and the programme for the day soon after 7 February.
If you have any questions or would like to submit your statement in a different way, please email [email protected]
Please note this event will be delivered in English. If you wish to contribute to conversations in Welsh please let us know.
