tv camerasCreative Skillset Cymru are pioneering a new scheme called ‘GLOBAL’, which is aimed at Welsh media companies that are looking to increase their share of the international media marketplace.


K7 Media is working with Creative Skillset Cymru to deliver a new scheme, which will give Welsh TV companies the knowledge and connections they need to take their programmes into the international marketplace.

International Markets 2014 will provide an opportunity for Welsh production companies to learn directly from experts in the international media industry.

Thursday 20 – Friday 21 November 2014

A two-day residential Bootcamp will take place at the exclusive Portmeirion venue in North Wales on 20 and 21 November, with sessions delivered by media experts from around the world.  Graham Spencer, who has held senior roles at Warner Brothers, Sony Pictures and BBC Worldwide, will chair and confirmed guest speakers include Graham Smith and Mark Robson (Grand Scheme Media), Jan Salling (Nordic World), Henrik Biskjaer (Nice Group), Jonathan Coad (Lewis Silkin), plus many more to be confirmed.

Industry Mentors

Delegates gain access to an industry mentor, who will help them to shape and sell projects into international markets. They will also be able to attend a refresher course early in 2015, and on-the-ground support at MIPTV 2015.


Fees include attendance at the Bootcamp (including 2 x nights accommodation at Portmeirion), the refresher course, ongoing mentoring and support at MIPTV 2015. The standard rate is £750 ex VAT. Bookings made before 30 June 2014 will be at the Early Bird rate of £600 ex VAT.

This activity is being carried out as part of Creative Skillset Cymru’s £4.38m Skills for the Digital Economy Programme. The Programme is backed with £2.7m from the European Social Fund through the Welsh Government, with the rest of the funds provided by Creative Skillset Cymru, Welsh broadcaster S4C, and the trade association for independent producers in film and television in Wales, Teledwyr Annibynnol Cymru (TAC).

We are looking for performers with learning disabilities to be a part of the unique, exciting production Stuck in the Mud!

Over the summer Sherman Theatre’s INC Youth Theatre are working in partnership withGDance, Ballet Cymru and the Wales Millennium Centre on their inspiring inclusive production Stuck in the Mud. We will be working with young people with learning disabilities developing performance skills, including drama and dance, which will culminate in an inclusive professional and community performance at the Wales Millennium Centre 27 & 28 September.

”GDance seeks to create artistic experiences that are meaningful, that have impact and create change in the minds of participants and audiences who may not ordinarily engage with inclusive work or ethos.” GDance

It is available to voluntary and community groups or to a group of residents who would like to get together to make a difference in the area they live. It is not essential to be a constituted group.
