Courses Held in Bangor
We will be holding two courses in Bangor for young people (14-18) starting in January 2018, people are welcome to go on just one or on both of the courses.
- Anxiety Management course
Tuesdays 4pm-6pm, for 6 weeks, starting Jan 23rd
Our 6 week (2 hours a week) Anxiety Management course for young people (14-18) works within a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy framework and each course follows a goal setting and problem solving approach. The course will provide participants with an understanding of what anxiety is and how it is maintained. You will learn a variety of practical skills to help reduce anxiety.
- Mindfulness course
Thursdays 4pm-6pm, for 5 weeks, starting Jan 25th
This is a mindfulness course designed for young people aged 14-18. It is designed to be a fun, engaging and useful mindfulness course for young people, adapted from the adult courses Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction and Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy, The mindfulness course aims to give young people mindfulness as a life-skill to:
•to feel happier, calmer and more fulfilled
•to get on better with others
•to help concentrate and learn better
•to help cope with stress and anxiety
