Person to Person Citizen Advocacy
Person to Person Citizen Advocacy is looking for committed new trustees to become members of our Management Committee. We are a charity with one simple aim: for people with learning disabilities to fulfil their potential by providing them with new opportunities and skills that will lead to rewarding and active lives. We do this by putting their needs and ideas at the heart of what we do.
Citizen Advocacy: We identify individuals who have a learning disability, who are socially isolated, disadvantaged and who may benefit from the support of a Citizen Advocate. We recruit and train volunteers from the local community to become Citizen Advocates. We then “match” the Advocates to suitable Partners (person with a learning disability) and provide continued support to the partnerships.
Parent Advocacy: Parent Advocates are full-time, paid Advocates who work with parents/prospective parents with learning disabilities in matters concerning their children. Through our parent advocacy project we give parents with learning disabilities a better understanding of parenting issues and support them to look after their children themselves.
Can you help?
