FACT – Creative Residency Opportunity

This is an incredible residency opportunity for DAC members. If you are interested in applying for this please feel free to contact us for advice.

As part of FACT and Culture Liverpool’s The Future World of Work programme, we are announcing an open call for workplace-based creative residencies. FACT invites artists and creative practitioners to submit proposals exploring how new working practices, business processes, and technologies are changing working life.

The programme will include six fully-funded residencies to develop creative workplace interventions, in partnership with businesses in the Liverpool City Region. Drawing upon artistic inquiry and research methods, this project aims to engage artists with employers to stimulate debate with businesses, policymakers and the public at large.

The programme is an exciting opportunity for artists to develop their practice whilst immersed in an authentic working environment. By appraising the norms, idiosyncrasies and broader sectoral developments for a specific workplace, the residency is a platform to interrogate late capitalism’s technology zeitgeist, stimulating new dialogues around the social implications of innovations in the workplace.

Outcomes will be presented in an exhibition at FACT in Spring 2019.

A resident fee of £2500, with £1500 for travel and accommodation and £2000 towards production will be awarded for work carried out between May – October 2018 in the Liverpool City Region, UK.
