Learning and Practice Project – Call for Artists

celf logoThe Learning & Practice project has three key aims:

1) Developing Artist’s knowledge, practice and experience of arts and mental health and increasing practitioner’s professional skills

2) Supporting artists and young people to develop creative aspirations

3) Promoting wider understanding of issues around arts and mental health, and reducing discrimination and stigma.

With the June sessions at Centre Celf being a great success, we are now beginning to make a call for Artists for our sessions in September in Ystradgynlais and October in Newtown. The idea of these sessions is to talk about finding ‘flow as an Artist’ and then create work for an exhibition in November 2016 which will be part of a Wales-wide Arts and Mental Health Festival in partnership with Disability Arts Cymru.

 September sessions – The Welfare, Ystradgynlais – 17th, 18th, 24th + 25th

 October sessions – Oriel Davies, Newtown – 7th, 8th, 14th + 15th

We’ve already run the first sessions here in Llandrindod Wells, you can read more about these sessions on PAVO Mental Health blog:

It’s a fantastic opportunity.  Ideally, we would like participants to attend all sessions as it would be most beneficial, but this is flexible due to the nature of the work.  A Welsh translation is available on request.
