Scope – About Disability

ScopeScope has a new online community newsletter. Whether you’re joining them from Netbuddy or Scope, you can enjoy receiving news and updates of what’s happening.

Their big news today is that the tips are now live – hundreds of tried and tested practical ideas on everything from travel to technology, all contributed by their members of their online community. Do check them out and please add your own. It doesn’t matter how simple it is, your idea could be someone else’s lightbulb moment! To find out more about their tips and how to use them, take a look at our blog.

Coming up over the next few months, they’ve got several themed weeks planned. They’re kicking off this week with a stress-busting parenting theme, which a lot of you will find useful. Their community advisor Noel Janis-Porter will be holding a webchat on Scope’s Facebook page for them tomorrow morning at 11am on the subject of calmer, easier, happier parenting. She’ll be following up her live Q&A with questions on the community, so there’ll be plenty of opportunities to ask her a question.

Also, do check out Hannah Postgate’s blog about attitudes towards working mothers of disabled children. Is it really just a “lifestyle choice”, she asks?

To find out about all their community news and events, keep an eye on their Community news section and their Facebook page, where theywill be posting regular updates. Do please let them know if you have any suggestions for the online community. This is your space and they want to hear from you!
