Glynn Vivian Art Gallery is pleased to announce their very last season of offsite activities, which they hope everyone will enjoy as they begin preparations for the reopening of the Gallery in Autumn 2016.
For their special opening event, they have commissioned seven artists to work with their communities to prepare a grand opening parade to celebrate the re-launch. Starting from their offsite home at YMCA, the parade will move through the city centre and guide everyone back to the redeveloped gallery in Alexandra Road.
Free creative workshops will take place to prepare for this parade throughout the summer at the YMCA, where you can make costumes, banners, puppets and musical instruments, so they urge you to come along and take part in what promises to be a lively family event in the city.
They would like to offer their warmest thanks to everyone who has supported them so generously through this period of transition and they look forward to sharing their opening date with you all very soon. The redevelopment has been a challenging and rewarding experience which they have enjoyed sharing with their communities, together with artists, organisations and galleries, locally and worldwide. They hope that you have been inspired by their offsite programme, and that you will come and see the new developments for everyone to share when the Gallery reopens in the Autumn.
