1 February 2015 to 31 August 2015
Include Cardiff is a collaborative community arts project drawing inspiration from Santa Cruz Museum of Art and History’s Memory Jar project, where visitors were invited to fill a mason jar with objects that represented a personal memory and to write an accompanying label that described it.
At our upcoming creative workshops, led by local artist Helen Joy, we are bringing together the local communities and the various voluntary organisations who work on their behalf to create Memory Jars that draw attention to the work that they have undertaken together.
A variety of jars, arts materials and everyday objects will be supplied by Diverse Cymru, but people are welcome and encouraged to bring items that represent or evoke strong memories or creativity along with them.
The Memory Jars will then be used to create an ‘Include Cardiff’ exhibition to showcase the many positive changes in people’s lives created by these interactions and ongoing relationships.
Workshop participants and guests will be invited to a private launch event to mark the start of the exhibition.
