Sherman Theatre and the JMK Trust are inviting submissions for the next stage of their Directors Programme, supported by The Carne Trust, which will run from January 2018 until the end of the year. New Welsh Playwrights Programme

Sherman Theatre is delighted to launch its second year of its New Welsh Playwrights Programme, following a very successful inaugural year in 2016.  We are looking for two writers to join four returning participants in the second stage of the Programme. Brad Birch will return to lead the six playwrights through an advanced series of workshops and training sessions that will further their skills in writing for theatre and encourage the ambition of their ideas. All writers will be paired with a JMK director, and together they will develop the script for a showing at the theatre.

The Programme is scheduled to begin in January and run for eight sessions, with development work on your script later in the year. We are inviting all writers aged 18 and above to submit; the only requirement is that the playwright is either from or lives in Wales. We are particularly looking for submissions in the Welsh language. Additional support is offered by Welsh Language artist Gethin Evans.
