2008/09: Busier than ever!

Another year packed full of interesting partnerships and projects. Here is just a small selection of the highlights…

Oska Bright at Unity

We organised for Oska Bright, the first film festival created by and for people with a learning disability, to run a workshop and screen a wonderful selection of short films at the Unity Festival at Wales Millennium Centre and at Aberystwyth Arts Centre.

Unusual Stage School at DaDa Fest

DAC’s Unusual Stage School took part in DaDa Fest, an international disability arts festival organised by North West Disability Arts Forum as part of Liverpool’s 2008 City of Culture celebrations.

‘Peeling’ at The Gate

We worked in partnership with Kaite O’Reilly to present a rehearsed reading of her important piece of disability theatre, ‘Peeling’. The event was extremely successful – over 100 people attended.

Rise and Shine Workshops

As part of DAC’s training for disabled performers we ran a series of performance workshops in the Spring of ’09 in Swansea, Carnarfon and Llandrindod Wells.
