Orpheus is an independent specialist college in Surrey that increases the confidence and skills of young disabled adults through the performing arts. They believe that every young disabled person should have the same opportunities as their non-disabled peers.
- A holistic learning programme
- A supported housing scheme
- A domiciliary care and support service
Their students are between the ages of 18 and 25 and have learning and/or physical impairments. They usually stay at Orpheus for three years. They have over 25 residential students and around 20 day students learning functional skills such as literacy, numeracy and IT skills alongside song-writing and performing.
Over the past fifteen years Orpheus has transformed the lives of hundreds of young people and their families. Their students have performed at venues all over the country including the Paralympics, Buckingham Palace and Glastonbury. Their goal is for young disabled people to have the skills and opportunities they need so that they can lead fulfilling and independent lives.
