Alexander Fox-Robinson

For the 2nd time Alexander won the 1st prize for his painting in the high profile CREATE! Competition. His latest exhibition took place at the Torch theatre gallery in February 2015 and he showed his art work at Pembroke Dock library in September the year before too. In 2013 Xander was commissioned to illustrate the book TRIBE WARRIOR by author Caspar Walsh, which is available on Amazon.

Alexander was born in Goodwick and at his young age –now 19 years old- he sold over 60 paintings and had a number of commissions. Xander has shown his work in various places around Pembrokeshire from the age of 5! He has been drawing from the day he could hold a pencil and still is every day. “Painting and drawing is like breathing for me” he says.

Xander went to Nant-y-Cwm Steiner school in Llanycefn, where all subjects are taught within an art subject: he learned about geography, history, the three Rs etc. through storytelling, painting, modelling, reciting and drama to name a few. In the past he has been fascinated and inspired by Picasso and Maggie Hambling. More recently his work is influenced by everything that is on offer at his art course in the Carmarthen School of Art.
