The year kicks off with the tour of our DAC Annual exhibition; an e-book will be published with poetic responses to the visual art. Also coming up is the start of the Tu Fewn Commissions; disabled artists curating and exhibiting in Galleries in Wales. Projects 2014

Our DAC@30 exhibition toured across Wales. Our Unusual Stage School had a series of training and development workshops. We started a North Wales writing group and we also worked in collaboration on some really exciting projects including Real Human Being with Taking Flight Theatre Co., MaDCaf with Time to Change Wales and Tu fewn alongside DASH.

2013 began with the EU Presidency Arts Disability conference in Wexford, Ireland – March 2013: The Arts Disability networking weekend showcased and celebrated the best in disability arts and inclusive arts from Wales, the UK and around the world, promoting positive images of disability and social inclusion to audiences. Projects 2012

The USS staged a fabulous production of Aristophanes ‘The Birds’, featuring a full cast of disabled people whilst the Go Get started exhibition showed off the talent of some of Wales’  up and coming young disabled artists.

Projects 2011

Young disabled people took central stage in 2011, read about our literary project ‘Ignite the Flame’, the ‘Rise and Shine’ Drama groups, and the ‘Prometheus Dance Group’ plus ‘Breaking the Wall’ with UCAN and the USS Skills week.

Projects 2010

2010 was a year of Pride, with the Disability Pride event in June where the USS performed ‘Pride the Opera’. We held the last of our series of seminars, ‘Unequal Spaces’ and we received a visit from the Queen of Lesotho during her tour of Wales.

Projects 2009

The first two ‘Equal Spaces’ events were held in Caernarfon and Newport, incorporating workshops, seminars and performances, including Unusual Stage School regulars.  Meanwhile the USS was preparing a new production – “At the Moulin Rouge”.

Projects 2007

Maggie Hampton was featured in the publication ‘Face On Disability Arts in Ireland and Beyond’, and DAC collaborated with Arts & Disability Ireland to launch it at Chapter Arts Centre.
