Unllais – North Wales

UnllaisUnllais is looking for a mental health service users and carers  from the counties of Gwynedd and Denbighshire to sit on the North Wales Partnership Board. The role will require successful candidates to also attend the Expert panel of the National Mental Health Partnership Board.

The North Wales Partnership has been established to:

  •      oversee the delivery and implementation of Together for Mental Health – A Strategy for Mental Health and Wellbeing in Wales, and its Delivery Plan;
  •      guide and monitor progress in North Wales, and
  •      report local progress to the National Partnership Board.

The North Wales Partnership Board will meet three times a year in a location central to North Wales.    The Expert panel of the National Partnership Board will meet three times a year at a venue in Wales.  All travelling and out of pocket expenses will be paid.

New British Sign Language Dictionary

all_together_now_logoA new British Sign Language dictionary has been created based on signs used by deaf people from all over the UK. The dictionary is the first of its kind and has been developed by academics at the Deafness Cognition and Language Research Centre based at University College London. The signs were collected from the BSL Corpus, a large collection of videos of signing that have been recorded and described.
